Society's Assets has received a grant from the Technology Fund at United Way of Racine County. The Technology Fund is designed to provide nonprofit organizations in Racine County with technology for use by organization staff/volunteers to increase proficiency, efficiency, and impact.

Sandra Smith, Director of Information Technology at Society's Assets, describes how the agency will use the grant. "We are upgrading our Microsoft Office program to Microsoft 365, a cloud-based application. Accessing email and files will be possible from anywhere with an internet connection, essential as some staff continue to work and meet remotely to minimize risks of COVID-19. Weather-related interruptions or power outages will not affect our operations. The addition of multi-factor authentication with DUO will offer extra security measures that safeguard our network. Microsoft Teams will bring Board members and employees to a chat-based, more productive workspace." She further adds, "The agency appreciates the support of the United Way of Racine County. The grant allows us to increase efficiency and realize cost savings, savings that can be directed to consumer services and programs."
