Society's Assets is a Center for Independent Living (CIL) — a nonprofit, nonresidential organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities live fully and independently in the communities of their choice. We believe every person, regardless of disability type, deserves the tools, support, and opportunity to direct their own life. Last year alone, we served over 3,000 people across five Wisconsin counties.
At Society’s Assets, we believe in the right of every person with a disability to live independently, make their own choices, and participate fully in community life. Everything we do is guided by these principles.
A world where people with disabilities live and function as full, equal members of their communities — with the freedom to make their own choices and direct their own lives.
To ensure the rights of all persons with disabilities to live and function independently in the community of their choice, by supporting individuals' efforts to become fully integrated into community life.
We are a nonprofit, nonresidential organization governed by a volunteer board — the majority of whom are people with disabilities. We are of, by, and for the disability community.
Many of our staff members are individuals with disabilities themselves. We don’t just serve the disability community — we are part of it.
We are funded through a combination of federal, state, and county grants, fees for services, and donations — so we can focus on what matters most: you.
Call us or reach out online. Tell us about yourself and what kind of support you're looking for — there's no wrong place to start.
